The title of my blog is really a hybrid of two phrases. The first is "the global war on terror." The second is Hollywood's War on God, an excellent documentary by pastor Joe Schimmel.
In Matthew 10:16, Jesus said, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." Christians should not be ignorant of Satan's devices (2 Cor. 2:11). We need to be aware of the enemy's activities so we can expose the unfruitful works of darkness (Eph. 5:11). This is my humble effort to do just that. Most of the ideas and insights in my blog are not original to me; I am simply passing along what I think is noteworthy information and timely warnings from people I have come to trust. At times it will be necessary to include insights from people whose ultimate conclusions would be contrary to my own, yet the facts they present are by themselves solid. I will, of course, provide ample warning when I need to do this. Sadly this may be necessary because it is difficult to find Christian teachers who are interpreting this information from a biblical point of view. For that matter, it is hard to find very many who will touch these subjects at all.
I also want to try to counter an alarming trend I have noticed among fellow believers. I noticed in my own life that much of what I believing really didn't coincide with the teachings of the Bible. We should have a nagging interest in discovering the truth so we can be better prepared for what lies ahead. We also have a responsibility to warn others of coming peril (Ezek. 3:17-21). Do we have to be experts on everything? No. But we should make ourselves aware of issues that affect us, our families, and the people we come into contact with everyday. I try to connect everything I post back to the Bible. Please be diligent to search the Scriptures daily yourself in order to discern truth from error (Acts 17:11). I sincerely want to be in agreement with scripture, so please don't hesitate to offer any correction.
I am by no means an expert in any of the subjects covered in this blog. Although I try to verify as much as I can, I don't have time to double-check everything. I will include footnotes and links whenever I can, but even if I do, realize that there is bad information out there, and I'm not perfect. But then again this blog was never intended to be a scholarly work. Instead it is meant to be more of a "head's up." Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst, that sort of thing. Basically I research the researchers and pass along anything I find to be important, useful, or disturbing. If you find anything of use here, please let me know in the comment section at the end of each post.
